PRICE TRANSPARENCY

Thank you for your feedback. I agree with you 100% that our lunch boxes are an investment.  At The Good Kiind, we tend to  think of ALL purchases as investments which force us to think twice prior to making any purchase - our motto is “buy less, choose well, make it last.”

Let me tell you why we are priced the way we are:

  • High Quality Materials - we use premium, food grade 304 or 18/8 stainless steel that is third party tested, certified, and approved for food contact (not all stainless steel is the same - or costs the same for that matter)
  • Third Party Agency Testing - as mentioned above we use accredited third party agencies to test our products for material quality, safety, as well as ensure all of our partners are adhering to guidelines and laws, ensuring safe working conditions and fair living wages for our overseas team members.
  • Engineering + Design - It was our mission to not just create another lunch box - we set out to create a better version of the best lunch box around.  We tested every single stainless steel lunch box on the market and time after time,  our team was left with the same LIMITATIONS from each tested container.  Our removable silicone insert provides a leak-resistant seal that not only provides parents the opportunity to pack a larger variety of foods (even runny left overs) but it also allows parents to get a thorough clean - by hand or in the dishwasher.  Other lunch boxes with so-called ‘leak-resistant barriers’ are NOT removable and over time customers end up with MOLD behind the silicone that can not be accessed!  There is no way around this happening when water is involved.

From a financial standpoint, we break it down year over year (in USD):

  • after year one, we've calculated the investment to be about 0.52 cents/day
  • after year two, that goes to 0.25 cents/day; and,
  • by year five, you are at about 0.10 cents/day.

And I can assure you our lunch kits were designed to last FAR beyond five school years. The quality of our FDA Approved premium materials reflects the retail price. We continue to work with our suppliers to bring our costs down by improving manufacturing and supply chain efficiencies, reducing shipping costs, and so much more. While we are committed to continuing to make our products more accessible to families, we won't ever do it at the expense of potentially offering an inferior product - from using only the highest quality materials to third party testing - we will never put the safety of our customers or their families at risk in order to reduce costs. You will find that with many brands, who over time can lower its prices - 9 times out of 10 they have done so while compromising quality standards - using inferior ingredients, materials, cut out inspections, etc.  All of these significantly impact the customer and the planet, in the end. Providing our customers with the most superior products is our goal and while we will continue to find ways to be more accessible to as many families as possible, we refuse to compromise on quality in the process.

Changes for Canada (shipping costs)

Our business is now based in the US so we are shipping internationally which does incur a higher cost from the carrier. Additionally, when we transitioned our business from Canada to the US we did not increase our prices to reflect the current exchange rate (this would have made The Explorer lunch box $15-$20 more depending on the current exchange rate).  We were committed to keep prices the same since it was already a higher price point.  However, we needed to make up the difference and that meant increasing the baseline shipping cost for orders under $150.
Below are the thresholds based on order amount.

Orders $350+CAD qualify for FREE SHIPPING.
Order amounts between $250 - $349.99CAD pay $9.99CAD
Order amounts between $150 - $249.99CAD pay $14.99CAD
Order amounts under $150CAD pay $19.99CAD
Canadians can also expect Delivery Duty Paid - meaning there will NOT be any customs broker fees or additional fees to pay after you complete your purchase.

RETURNS / CANCELLATIONS / EXCHANGES

Customer Satisfaction is at the forefront of our business and that's why we accept product returns of products within 30 days from the date the order was fulfilled/shipped (this may be extended during peak seasons for convenience). This policy applies only to purchases made through thegoodkiind.com. Purchases made through a store that carries our products will be subject to the individual stores' return policy.

If you would like to make a return, simply email us at hello@thegoodkiind.com - please use the subject RETURNS - Order #.  We will provide a discounted return label which will be deducted from the refund amount (excluding international orders who will need to pay for their own return labels and any return fees, incurred (duty, taxes, etc))

Note that customers are responsible for any shipping costs incurred when placing any returns.  Refunds - of the original product purchase price - will be credited to the original payment source.  Shipping charges will not be refunded.

We offer FREE exchanges but the customer will need to pay their invoice for the exchange product prior to receiving a return label.

Customers can cancel orders anytime BEFORE the order is fulfilled.  Once the order has been fulfilled and shipped, the customer will need to submit a RETURN (see paragraph above) and ship the products back to our warehouse at the customers expense.

All sale items, including warehouse sales, demo merchandise, or seasonal promotions are all FINAL SALE.

DAMAGED SHIPPING BOXES

We use third party carriers like UPS, USPS, FedEx, and Canada Post to ship your items to our customers.  Please know, while we have great relationships with these carriers, we have no control over what happens to the boxes in transit.  From time to time, boxes may arrive slightly dirty or even damaged from transit.  It does happen and we apologize for this on their behalf.  Please know, our carriers are doing their very best to keep boxes clean and undamaged.

We will not reship orders to customers because the 'exterior' shipping box was damaged.

HOLIDAY RETURNS

We will not be taking returns during the month of December.  All return windows will be extended an additional 30 days during the holidays. Return request openings will resume January 1.

 WHOLESALE

Wholesale and group orders are final sale.
